From the Desk of Thomas Ott

I woke up one morning and decided to build a life instead of making a living.

Literary abandon with NaNoWriMo

I decided to particiapate in this year's National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and finally put to paper (or wordprocessor) my book idea.  The goal for the month of November is to write a 50,000 word novel by November 30th!  So far I'm over 11,000 words (more than 20% done) and I'm looking eagerly to the finish line.  The working title of my novel is "A place in  the woods" and its about a chipmunk who's lost his way from home and the journey he must take to get back there (read my synopsis and excerpt).

This is an incredibly fun endeavor and I'm surprised how creative I can be by just writing with abandon. Perhaps I've found my calling in life, even if I don't make it to November 30th!
